Types of Precipitation

Precipitation means all forms of water , that reaches the earth surface from the atmosphere.
There are following types of precipitation occurs as per Hydrology engineering in India.

1. Rain
2. Snow
3. Drizzle
4. Glaze
5. Sleet
6. Hail

1. Rain

This is the principle mode of precipitation in India. This denotes water droplets with size varying from 0.5 mm to 6 mm. On the basis of intensity , Rainfall is classified as follows;

Sprinkler Irrigation System

    Image: Sprinkler Irrigation System.
Water is a key factor in increasing agricultural production. About 78% of India's water resources are used for agriculture out of this only 50% is actually used by plants and the remaining water resources are wasted either as deep percolation or as evaporation. Excess irrigation not only reduces crop production and damages soil fertility but also causes ecological hazards like water logging and salinity. With competitive use of water and its increasing scarcity, it has become imperative to economize water use for optimum productivity. This is possible only through improved water management and adopting techniques of irrigation. One such method of modern irrigation is sprinkler irrigation system and is popular among the farmers across the country.

Bogues Compounds Cement

Bogues Compounds: when water is added to cement it react with the ingredients of the cement chemically & results in the formation of complex chemical compounds terms as BOGUES compounds. which are not for simultaneously.

1. Tri-Calcium Aluminate (3CaO.Al2O3 or C3A) -------------------------8-12%

2. Tetra Calcium Alumino Ferrate (4CaO.Al2O3.Fe2O3 or C4AF)----6-10%

3. Tri-Calcium Silicate (3CaO.SiO2 or C3S)---------------------------------30-50%

4. Di-Calcium Silicate (2CaO.SiO2 or C2S)----------------------------------20-45%

Cement's Constituents

Cement basically constitute of two different types of components ARGILLACEOUS (Clay) and CALCAREOUS (Calcium Carbonate) compounds.

Constituents of Cement:

Lime CaO  --------------------------------------62-65%
Silica SiO2 --------------------------------------17-25%
Alumina Al2O3 --------------------------------3-8%
